January's Book of the Month: 'Sad Book' by Michael Rosen, illustrated by Quentin Blake.
Award Winning author Michael Rosen is an English children's novelist and poet, an author of 140 books! Michael Rosen's Sad Book is such a book. It chronicles Michael's grief at the death of his son Eddie from meningitis at the age of 19. A moving combination of sincerity and simplicity, it acknowledges that sadness is not always avoidable or reasonable and perfects the art of making complicated feelings plain. -AmazonUK

CGP's 2015 A-level essential Mathematics for Biology & Physics are a good resource for new A-level students. Twenty Shakespeare books are a great resource to Shakespeare's plays. Useful for both children and adults. The Knowledge Encyclopedia and Collins World Atlas are essential references to broaden learners' knowledge in sciences, history and geography. Romeo & Juliet York Notes for GCSE is a good and accesible resource for Shakespeare's literature at GCSE level. Letts GCSE Maths and English guides for 2015 are relevant for those currently undertaking GCSEs. We recommend these from end of Year 9. The Illustrated Dictionary of Maths and the Usborne Guide to Better English are exceptional resources for KS2 & KS3 learners. Both books are engaging and relevant for 8+years. |
